SS 2021 Ready-to-Wear and Trends to Expect

Fashion, shooting videos of daily outfits, loungewear looks, lifestyle and coffee on Instagram. These are actually what got us through the lockdown and the horrifying pandemic.

As Fashion lovers, we keep looking forward to the upcoming fashion weeks, and what the designers are about to present to us on the runways! We either start obsessing or criticizing!

Here, I'm talking to you about what designs are the Fashion Houses presenting to us for the spring and summer seasons of 2021. From Saint Laurent to Christian Dior and more..

It's recognized that, the first element to expect from such seasons is bright colors. However, some designers are taking a detour from their usual path; by majorly using black and silver in their designs. Both colors indicate sophistication, elegance, power and wealth. It's a post-pandemic renaissance, I believe!

What Trends to Get from SS21!

6 Trends to Rock These Seasons

Comfortable and Fashionable

It would be a shame not to begin this with Dior SS21! I mean it was a dream show; inspired by jardin des tuileries in Paris. Maria Grazia, the creative director of Dior, mentioned that their vision at Dior was impacted by the pandemic, and their designs were made to serve people, considering that people are spending the majority of their time at home, and people are starting to look for comfort at all cases. In their show; there was no heels no form-fitting dresses. Footwear were all flats and designs were all flowy and slouched. 86 designs were dedicated to simply comfort!

Bright Colors

Really, Valentino? haha

Spring vibes are apparent in some designs. Several designers are eager to be back to the past with vintage looks, prints or matching 3 or 4 colors altogether; such as Dolce and Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Valentino. All designs these seasons seem to be about being authentic, exposing one's true-self, and bringing the old days back, because the new ones aren't good enough! However, to me, these are the most Hideous ones :)

All Things Black

Renowned high-end brands are tending to have their designs in black, with a high presence of leather jackets and more n' more leather everywhere; all around! E.g Saint Laurent; where their designs are almost entirely black. It seems like they are reflecting their sadness over Covid; as fashion descends from culture, Indeed!

No one said it better than i-D magazine in their article's heading "Saint Laurent's dramatic SS21 show expressed a yearning for open space" after being locked down for almost a year! With Anthony Vacarello getting the job exquisitely done!

Silver and Grey Tones

more and more designs with silver fabric have been spotted in such runways!
